Rometsch
Last year an acquaintance of mine decided to let go of a very rare car that he has owned for some time…. A 1958 Rometsch coupe. This is not a common car to say the least. I’ve been in the scene awhile now and have had the fortune of dealing with and working on a few of these cool coach-built cars…so i figured finding a suitable buyer should be no problem. I made a call to “so and so” and they emailed “another guy” and “that guy” just bought one, but knew of another guy who was looking for one…you get the idea. So after a couple months of buyer and price discussion a deal was finally hammered out. Now it was my job to head west to retrieve the car for the new owner. The absolute best part about the car…it’s been parked inside for the last 30 years. No kidding…how cool is that? So my trusty co-pilot (my daughter) and i made the trek. First order of business was to bolt a roller transmission in the car…then we helped wheel the aluminum beast to the street for the 1st time in…yep 30 years…pretty cool. After a short jog with the Rometsch down the street and around the corner to the truck…we loaded the Rometsch on the trailer and the owner took a couple last pictures. A few handshakes and we headed to the LBC for shipping after a ritual stop @ our favorite Mexican food joint. What a great trip.
